If we're going to be shouting, why not shout together? What are fan chants? Also called Cheer Patterns, are an organized way of screaming when an artist is performing. Instead of all the sporadic screaming, there are certain things to say, at a certain time and must follow the rhythm of the song. Fan chants often include the name of the singer(s), name of fanclub, and words of endearment. But more than anything, they are words of encouragement. For now, let's focus only on the promoted tracks and those with a more upbeat sound.
Now, cheering can be made in all kinds of way... You can sing along to the lyrics, repeat the lyrics after or shout out something else.
Examples? - Words with a dot in between like Th.Is means that there you pronounce it syllable by syllable. - Words TH~IS means that the word is extended. - A sentence with a dot and a space in between, like this: Lets. Go. C. Kay means that there is a quick pause between the words. - A sentence with an ellipsis (3 dots) like this: Sai...Ko...No means that there's a long pause between the words. - When repeating a word or sentence along with Crystal, just bold the sentence or word.
What will not be accepted?
Ballad Cheers: Ballads are songs that emphasize Crystal's voice and are usually sentimental. Too much shouting and screaming will ruin the mood of the song and it's overall off putting for others who are trying to listen. Cheers that overlap with Crystal's singing: Chants should be made during the intervals of the songs. Repetition: Repeating too much of the lyrics can be too overwhelming, and will drown out Crystal's voice. Keep it minimum to only one sentence during the chorus, hook or verse.
Note, that not every song needs a cheer pattern. There will be some that just doesn't have an opening for us to cheer, or some that simply don't require one. For example. Crystal's Kimi Ga Itakara was a promoted track. However, it will not be receiving a fan chant, due to it being a slower song which'll completely ruin the emotional atmosphere.
Rules:
- Only members ranking Sophomore and up are allowed to submit a fan chant proposal.
- Please post the name of the album that the song is coming from as well as the year (It'll help for those unfamiliar with a song).
- If you want the opinions of other members before submitting, then put [DRAFT] in bold.
- When submitting, put [FINAL] in bold, if you're a staff member, then post [STAFF].
- Members will need the approval of TWO other members and TWO staff members to be inducted into our official cheer pattern vault.
- Version 2's can not be too similar to the version 1.
[Version 2] Are fan chants that will be used at smaller venues or for official remixes. Version 2's are second choice submissions for a chant that has already been made. If you want to submit a cheer that has already done, you will need to message the original poster to see if they will allow you create a [Version 2]. They can approve or reject your submission if they wish; if they do approve of your work, then you must contact a moderator (Kwnlng or Kuropie972) who will then induct your work to the vault.
Staff only needs the acceptance of other staff. Staff does not need member approval for submission; You can not put in a submission for a cheer that was already made by staff, not even for a version 2.
*Staff: When in the middle of approving or rejecting a cheer, please listen to the song and read along with the pattern. If it's off rhythm, too lengthy, ect. then you can reject with a request for modification. If the song just doesn't fit well with a pattern, then reject and add to the list of songs that will not be receiving a cheer.

I'm actually not quite sure what a fanchant is but it seems interesting, haha. An explanation for everyone who might not know:
Fan chants are cheers shouted during an artists performance to show support and love. There unique to the groups/artists. Only promoted tracks get a cheer pattern. Also, chants are only done during the instrumental breaks and pauses in the songs, unless you're repeating a word or line along with the artist.
Some people don't care for them but I always liked the idea and after going to KCON this year I love it even more. Besides Girls' Generation, the other groups were performing in NYC for the first time, and you could tell that they were nervous performing to westerners, but they way their faces lit up when people started chanting... Even GG was so shocked that they did a short accapella version of their song Gee just to hear it again
Here's some examples:
Girls' Generation
The line that's always shouted during all Girls' Generation performances is [translated] "Right now it's girls' generation, tomorrow its girls' generation, forever it's girls generation". It's their "set cheer". And then they shout the groups name [So Nyeo Shi Dae] throughout. Some other performances, they shout the members names or a certain line in the song. AKB48The video shows the cheer pattern for heavy rotation. They actually have rules to their fan chants, and a certain order of hoe they go about it, but I don't really know how it works nor do I understand what the hell the chats mean (Fire and Diver...) and and they have hand gestures that they do too. They always start off with "Aaaa Yossha Ikuzo!", which means "Here we go!" and then dive into the fan chants. Berryz KobuI'm not sure what their usual fan chants are like for BZK, but this is what I'd consider a typical chant. Shouting out the names of the members (after they sing a line) and singing along to a catchy hook. BoAJumping-BoA is the name of BoA's Korean fanclub and jjang means Best (so they shout BoA's best! BoA's best!).
