The Bi-racial idols in South Korea? Are you fans of them, or their music? Do you think they would have a better time in the Japanese market?
Insooni
Tasha

You don't mean idols, you mean artists, right?
Well, they are all talented in their own way; Never been a fan of Insooni but she's fun to look at when she dances on stage and she has nice vocals and energy.
As for Tasha, yeah I've been following her since 2007 or 2008. i hope she'll release something with a hip hop flavour soon because I kinda disliked her recent singles and her last album with MFBTY.
And Lee Michelle. This girl has a college degree in film production, she has played in a musical and been in the top 5 of a Tv reality music show. AND was signed under YG. She's got nice things going for her, but I want her to get out of kpop real quick. Please hear me out: she can sing on any music genre. She's flopped this week with her debut single and while it's just one song and she can do better next time, I think pop and ballads are too limiting for her. She said she loves freedom and look at her appearance: she doesn't look like your average kpop female singer. She wears pants, no skirts no hot pants, she shaved one side of her head and doesn't dye them, she doesn't show off her body after her significant weight-loss, she wears hip hop caps and comfortable shoes on TV. Seriously, she'd better record alternative/trip hop/rock songs, not only because of her style but also because of her personality and her potential to grow as an artist: vocally, musically, artistically. Kpop won't provide that for her in my opinion, or not much. She won't be given 2NE1 songs or Crayon Pop's, so ballads and standard pop will be her main genre, it seems.
She should keep using some creativity (her MV concept was creative to me, film-like) and her singularity to build her career. Kpop is already saturated.

Hopefully I didn't scare anyone lol
Just clarifying what I said about Insooni: I do respect her work and I believe she deserves her title of Korean diva as a singer. She has a great stage presence and charisma, I just love to see her on stage, dancing or not as she's fascinating and passionated. But I'm not a fan of her music. I like her vocals on funky or upbeat stuff and even some ballads.
As for Lee Michelle, I wish for her best but I don't think that she can change kpop dynamics just like that, by being an individual. But who knows, she might become the exception to the rule. We'll see.
Annnd Japan. No, all of them were fortunate to be in Korea in my opinion, as Japan has a very big market, too big for them to stand out maybe? Yoon Mi Rae would have been fine as a rapper for a while there though. Insooni, not sure she would have made it big. And releasing MVs about racism and colorism in Japan? No way, I think. Even CK rarely ever talked about these issues and did it very briefly and not in a personal way.
